3. How do I know my home and pets are safe and secure?
As a Certified Professional Dog Walker, I am a graduate of the DogTec Dog Walking Academy, the nation's premier organization to offer Professional Dog Walker training and certification. I am also Certified in Pet First Aid and trained in canine learning and behavior, dog communication and body language, dog aggression and prevention, pack management, fight prevention and protocols and basic training such as recalls and leash manners.
We absolutely love and adore all animals! However, we have the knowledge and experience of walking and caring for dogs and therefore, specialize in providing care for dogs only. For the safety of everyone, we do not provide service to dogs with a history of biting, fighting, attacking other animals or people or other aggressive behaviors.
We are insured and bonded for the protection of our clients. In addition, we have a business license in the state of New Jersey to conduct business. The safety of your home and pets is our number one priority.
4. Do you have references?
Absolutely! We can provide glowing references from many satisfied clients upon request. Also, check our raving client testimonials, see photos of our adorable furry friends, or feel free to ask us for clients that you can call directly.
We do not permit job sharing once you have hired us or third parties (includes, but is not limited to: friends, relatives, neighbors or other service persons) entering your home while you're out of town. Due to insurance guidelines, liability concerns and our own safety, we cannot allow a third party to enter your home while we are securing your home and caring for your pets. For the time that we are contracted to care for your pets and home, we are responsible for the safety of your pets and home. We provide our client's with the security of knowing that Doggies Day Out, LLC is insured and bonded. A third party entering your home can breach this security making it impossible to know where the liability falls. As a result, our insurance is not responsible and will be null and void when other people are in the home. 

If you have any other professional services such as a house cleaning service, please let us know what days of the week or month to expect the service person to be home.

We're professional pet care providers and the safety and well being of your pets is our priority. We'll be glad to provide additional visits for your pets as required.
5. Can our friends or family members come over and let our pet out  
    during the day or night?
6. Why do you need 2 copies of my house keys?
If you plan on being a repeat customer, we recommend you keep TWO working copies of your house keys on file for your convenience - one set for daily use and the other set for backup. The backup key is stored securely in a lockbox at our office and used only in case of emergency (such as a broken or lost key). A fee of $10 per visit will be charged for key pick-up and return after initial consultation. This fee is to cover time and mileage costs.

11. Do you walk dogs in inclement weather?
Absolutely. We will be happy to send you an email, text or voice mail updates at the end of the day, if you like. Of Course, you are always welcome to call us anytime! In the event that we are not immediately available, please leave a message, and we will promptly return your call. We also write a detailed daily pet journal for you to read upon your return. 
Absolutely! For your dog’s safety and our own, we shorten walks a bit in extreme hot (temperatures of 90° F and above) and extreme cold weather (temperatures below freezing and unsafe icy conditions). We will gladly spend the visit’s remaining time indoors with your dog playing with their favorite toys and games. We will use our judgment in case of heavy rain, hail or other extreme weather to best ensure your dog’s well-being and care. 
​Our clients depend on us to take care of their pets and home while in our care. Being insured and bonded ensures peace of mind for our clients. We carry liability insurance that protects you and all our clients from financial loss in the event an injury or accident occurs while caring for your pets. A bond or employee dishonesty coverage protects you as a client in the event of theft by an employee. 

9. Are my house keys kept in a safe place?
Yes. We take the security of your home very seriously. All house keys are anonymously marked so client's name and addresses are not listed on the keys and are stored securely in a lock box when not in use.
10. What should I expect when I return home? 
You can expect to find your pets happy and healthy, and your home cared for and maintained just the way you left it. You will find a dog walking/pet sitting report from us to update you on how everything went while you were away. When you're back home from vacation, please call us to let us know you've returned.
12. What if I need your services at the last minute?
We know that unexpected things happen sometimes. Once we have had an initial consultation and have your keys on file, we will always do our best to accommodate your pet needs. It is much easier to honor last minute and emergency services when we have your keys on file.
13. How do I pay for dog walking or pet sitting?
Payment can be made in the form of cash or personal checks. There is a $35 charge for all returned checks. Checks are payable to "Doggies Day Out, LLC" and should be mailed to: Doggies Day Out, LLC, P.O.Box 301, Ledgewood, NJ 07852. You can also leave the payment at the time of the first visit. 
14. When is my payment due?
Payment is required before services are rendered. For pet sitting services and new dog walking clients, payment is due in full at the time of booking or by the first day of service. Additional unforeseen visits or additional costs (such as food, supplies or vet fees) must be paid within 10 days of your return. For established dog walking clients, invoices will be left at your home during our visit or emailed in the last week of each month for the upcoming month's services. Payment is due in full by the first visit of the new month. Invoices are considered past due once service begins and will accrue a $20 late payment fee per invoice for every 10 days.
