All pets must have a local veterinarian that is authorized to treat your pet. All pets should be in good physical and mental health.
In order to use our dog walking and pet sitting services, we request that clients comply with the following requirements and policies:
We require that all pets in our care be up to date on Rabies, DHLPP and Bordetella vaccinations and heartworm checks. For this reason, we ask for a copy of current vaccinations at the time of the initial consultation. Please request vaccination records from your veterinarian in advance as we will be unable to start service without proof of vaccinations.
As a Certified Professional Dog Walking service, we are firm believers of positive reinforcement methods for dogs. For our clients, this means that we will not practice any inhumane or non-positve treatment of dogs, including hitting or grabbing, yelling and screaming, use of shock, citronella, choke or prong collars, invisible fence, squirt bottles, or other rough or inappropriate treatment.
For the safety and well-being of all dogs and humans, we do not provide service to dogs with a history of biting, fighting or being aggressive with other animals or people.
We recommend that your dog have a current dog license and either be microchipped or wear proper identification tags on their collars.
We do not provide services to dogs with fleas or ticks as we run the risk of carrying them to other client's homes. We ask that your pets be on a strict flea/tick control program such as Frontline or K9 Advantix. We reserve the right to deny or terminate service for this reason.
Due to insurance guidelines, other liability issues and for our own safety, we do not allow third parties caring for your pets once you have hired us. This includes, but is not limited to: friends, family, neighbors, or other third parties.
We require all clients provide 2 working copies of house keys. One set is for use during the visits and other set for backup. The backup key is stored securely in a lockbox and used only in case of emergency (such as a broken or lost key). If you would like your key returned to you, or are an existing client and would like us to pickup a new key after the initial consultation, a $10 fee will be charged. This small fee is to cover our time and mileage costs.
Please make copies from original keys only and be sure to test the keys with the door closed and locked. We do not permit alternate arrangements such as keys left under the doormat, door left unlocked, key left with a neighbor, keys returned by mail etc.
All pets living in your home are our responsibility and considered under our care when you hire us. Please let us know about all pets at home even if they require little attention. For the safety and well-being of your dog, we require at least three (3) visits per full day while you are away.
For your dogs safety, all dogs in our care are required to be on leash when outdoors unless in a secure fenced-in yard. All dogs must be leash trained. Please be sure to provide a secure collar or harness. We recommend a harness for walking your dog. Your dog will feel more comfortable in a harness since it does not put pressure on your dog's throat.
For the safety of your dog, we do not use retractable leashes. We will use our own secure 6 foot nylon leash to walk your dog.
We require a two-hour time window to arrive for your dog's walk.This allows us to manage our constantly changing schedules, bad weather conditions, drying off dogs after rainy, snow or slushy days and travel time due to traffic, weather etc.
For safety reasons, we do not provide care for dogs or cats with free access to kitty or doggie doors while you are not at home. We require that these doors remain closed while we are caring for your pets.
Full payment is due on or prior to the first visit. Invoices are considered past due once service begins and will incur late charges.There is a $35 fee for all returned checks.
Doggies Day Out, LLC does not offer discounted pricing. Our services are priced fairly for the professional and quality care we provide and reflect our credentials.
ADDITIONAL FEES & HOLIDAY CHARGES
Rates are for local service within 8 miles of dog walker's/sitter's home. Additional mileage charges will apply over 8 miles. All rates are subject to change.
A fee of $10 per visit will be charged for key pick-up or return after initial consultation.

How did you hear about us?
We do not offer refunds for cancelled services. All cancellations are credited for future services. All credits applied expire within 6 months of cancellation date.
Daily dog walking services: Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance in order to receive a full credit for future services. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will not receive any credits or refunds. No fee will be charged if you need to make a schedule change (for example, swap a Mon walk for a Wed walk).
Dog sitting services & overnight visits: Please cancel reservations at least 72 hours in advance of the scheduled visit (over non-holiday periods) in order to receive a full credit for future services. If you cancel your reservation less than 72 hours in advance of the first scheduled visit, you will have to pay a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the total amount due for scheduled services. Any changes or reduction in number of visits must also be made 72 hours prior to the first visit. Any changes or reductions in service made with less than 72 hours advance notice will not be honored.
